A Faculdade de Línguas Medievais e Modernas da Universidade de Oxford recruta um Leitor em português (tempo parcial), de 15 de setembro de 2019 a 31 de agosto de 2020, para ensino avançado da língua portuguesa (variante europeia): oralidade, escrita, gramática e compreensão auditiva.

Os candidatos devem possuir: graduação em campo relevante; experiência de ensino no nível de graduação; fluência na língua portuguesa (português europeu); fluência (quase-)nativa em inglês; habilidades interpessoais e capacidade para desenvolver materiais didáticos.

Part-time Lector in Portuguese
Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, 41-47 Wellington Square, Oxford

Grade 5: £25,482 - £30,395 with a discretionary range to £33,199 p.a.

The Faculty are seeking to appoint a Lector in Portuguese (part-time) from 15 September 2019 until 31 August 2020.

The post will involve advanced teaching of the Portuguese language (European variant). The postholder will be expected to give language classes: oral, written, grammar and listening comprehension. The postholder is responsible for preparing and delivering language teaching within the sub-Faculty, including setting and marking work and participating in examinations.

The Lector in Portuguese will be expected to give classes in the written and the oral use of Portuguese up to a maximum of 6 hours a week in each week of each term; to regularly set, mark and grade students’ work during the academic year; to participate in the Sub-faculty’s week long pre-sessional course, taking place in late September 2019; to participate in the Sub-faculty one-day intensive Portuguese language course once a year; to provide reports on attendance and progress for tutors on students' work once a term, or as required; to take part as an assessor or additional examiner in oral examinations and to carry out some administrative duties in the Sub-faculty as required.

Applicants must possess: a good undergraduate degree in a relevant subject; evidence of the ability to teach undergraduate students and improve their knowledge of and fluency in the Portuguese language; exceptional fluency in European Portuguese and the ability to teach it at undergraduate levels within the Oxford course; exceptional fluency in English; evidence of the interpersonal skills for, and a willingness to undertake, the pastoral care of undergraduate students; sufficient depth and breadth of knowledge in the subject to develop teaching materials.
