O Departamento de Espanhol e Português da Universidade Emory, Atlanta, EUA, seleciona um docente de estudos lusófonos, com início previsto para agosto de 2020.
O candidato ideal deve demonstrar sucesso no ensino de várias aulas de língua portuguesa e estudos lusófonos, ter experiência prévia com a orientação e aconselhamento de estudantes de graduação e demonstrar um compromisso ativo com o desenvolvimento do programa, incluindo os estudos no exterior. De particular importância é a disposição de se envolver em colaboração interdisciplinar com outros departamentos e programas da Emory: História, Estudos Africanos, Estudos da América Latina e do Caribe, Estudos de Media e Cinema, Linguística, Estudos Ambientais ou Saúde Global. O campo de especialização é aberto.
Requisitos
- Possuir um doutoramento em Língua portuguesa ou em Estudos luso-brasileiros até agosto de 2020.
- Proficiência nativa ou quase nativa em português e inglês falado e escrito.

Lecturer in Lusophone Studies

Emory University’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese invites applications for a Lecturer in Lusophone Studies. The appointment begins in August 2020. We seek candidates with a wide-ranging knowledge of the field as well as significant language teaching experience.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate success in teaching a range of classes in Portuguese language and Lusophone studies, have prior experience with undergraduate student mentoring and advising, and display an active commitment to program development, including study abroad. The candidate must also show experience with, knowledge of, and sensitivity to the needs of a culturally diverse student body. We seek candidates whose teaching and research interests complement the current strengths of our faculty in Spanish and Portuguese and will directly contribute to our Portuguese program. Of particular importance is a willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with other departments and programs at Emory such as History, African Studies, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Media and Film Studies, Linguistics, Environmental Studies, and Global Health. Qualifications
PhD in either Portuguese language or Portuguese and Brazilian literatures/studies or the equivalent by August 2020. Native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese and English. Duties include teaching undergraduate courses, advising undergraduate students, and performing service duties as required by the department and the university. Annual teaching load is 5 courses (3/2). Lecture-track faculty at Emory receive multiyear contracts with the possibility of renewal and promotion, and participate fully in departmental and university governance.
