A Secção de Espanhol e Português da Universidade de Cambridge está procurando nomear um docente em Estudos Literários e Culturais Coloniais da América Latina.

Será dada preferência a candidatos com interesse e especialização nos séculos XVI e XVII. Experiência em línguas e culturas indígenas, lusófonas e / ou espanholas peninsulares da era colonial será uma vantagem.

University Lecturer in Colonial Latin American Literary and Cultural Studies

The Spanish and Portuguese Section in the University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint a University Lecturer in Colonial Latin American Literary and Cultural Studies. We invite applications from candidates with outstanding research and teaching potential in Colonial-era Hispanophone literatures and cultures of Latin America. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a specialist interest in 16th and 17th centuries. Expertise in indigenous, Lusophone and/or Spanish peninsular languages and cultures of the Colonial era will be an advantage.

The successful candidate will normally hold a PhD in the relevant specialist subject area and will have a record of, or clear potential for, outstanding research. Appointees will be expected to:

  • engage in high-level research,

  • seek opportunities to win external funding for that research,

  • publish in their specialist field,

  • teach and examine undergraduates,

  • supervise and examine MPhil and PhD postgraduate work,

  • contribute to administration.
