Nos dias 3 e 4 de abril de 2025, em Lisboa, terá lugar a XIII Graduate Conference in Culture Studies, intitulada “Echoes of Age: Relational Dynamics in an Intergenerational World”, organizada pelos estudantes do programa de doutoramento em Estudos Culturais do CECC - Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Cultura.

O evento será realizado em língua inglesa e incluirá apresentações individuais com uma duração de 15 minutos, seguidas de 15 minutos para perguntas e respostas.

A conferência convida à submissão de resumos que explorem a complexidade do conceito de envelhecimento e das dinâmicas intergeracionais, abordando temas como:

• Representações culturais do envelhecimento
• Memória e práticas de recordação
• Feminismo e envelhecimento
• Conhecimentos indígenas sobre o envelhecimento
• Conflitos e solidariedade entre gerações
• Cultura jovem e obsessão ocidental pela juventude
• Expressões mediáticas e musicais sobre idade
• Sustentabilidade ambiental e envelhecimento
• Longevidade e qualidade de vida
• Entre outros tópicos...

Também se aceitam intervenções alternativas: workshops co-criativos, grupos de leitura e intervenções artísticas.

Organized by students from the PhD programme in Cultural Studies, the XIII Graduate Conference in Culture Studies – Echoes of Age: Relational Dynamics in an Intergenerational World will take place on 3^rd and 4^th April 2025.

The working language of the conference is English.

Individual paper presentations will be allocated 15 minutes for presentation and 15 minutes for questions.

We invite abstracts for individual or joint papers and presentations as well as alternative interventions including artistic interventions, co-creative workshops, reading groups and more. Please specify any needed materials in your abstract.

Abstract (approximately 250 words) and short biography (100 words) should be sent by email to echoesofage.conference@gmail.com no later than 6^th January 2025.

Notification of acceptance will be sent on 7^th February 2025, at the latest. After acceptance of abstracts, participants will be asked to register for the conference and to provide some personal details to this end.

Registration fees

The registration fee includes coffee breaks and conference materials.

• Early bird registration for students/non-academic attendees (from 10th February to 16th February 2025): 85 € 
• ⁠Regular registration for students/non-academic attendees (from 17th February to 4th March 2025): 110 € 
• ⁠Registration for academics: 110 € 
• CECC researchers are exempted from the registration fee but must register.
