Publicação da Portuguese Literary & Cultural Studies (PLCS 32): Luso-American Literatures and Cultures Today

A Tagus Press, editora do Centro de Estudos e Cultura Portugueses da Universidade de Massachusetts Dartmouth, divulga a publicação de Luso-American Literatures and Cultures Today (PLCS 32), uma abordagem transnacional inovadora das culturas lusodiaspóricas contemporâneas da América do Norte e do Caribe.


 

Tagus Press, the publishing arm of the Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, announces the publication of Luso-American Literatures and Cultures Today (PLCS 32), a groundbreaking transnational approach to the contemporary Lusodiasporic cultures of North America and the Caribbean.

This issue is dedicated primarily to the Luso-American literatures and cultures from across the US, Canada, and the Caribbean, incorporating perspectives from both within and beyond the current set of canonical reference points. Articles on the cultures of southeastern New England are joined by others that focus on Montreal, Barbados, and Curaçao. This issue also features literary contributions from urban centers such as Toronto, San Francisco and Vancouver, as well as authors whose work can be said to be in transit between North America and disparate points in the Lusophone Atlantic (continental Portugal, the Azores, Cabo Verde).

Christopher Larkosh is Associate Professor of Portuguese at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Emanuel da Silva is Researcher and Instructor in Critical Sociology at the University of Toronto. Maggie L. N. Felisberto is a PhD student in Luso-Afro-Brazilian Studies and Theory at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Jo-Anne S. Ferreira is a Senior Lecturer in Linguistics at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago.

Luso-American Literatures and CulturesTodayis volume 32 of Portuguese Literary & Cultural Studies (PLCS), an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal published semi-annually in print and online editions by Tagus Press in the Center for Portuguese Studies and Culture at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
