We inform you that it is possible to submit, until January 31st 2020,  scientific articles to our journal´s review process in order to be published in number 01 volume 22, of Diadorim: Revista de estudos linguísticos e literários, on behalf of the members of its Editorial Team at the Vernacular Letters Program at Faculty of Letters´ MA and PhD Programs in Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (http://www.posvernaculas.letras.ufrj.br/pt//). This issue of the journal will contain two dossiers: a language dossier and a literature dossier.

The organizer of the language dossier for this volume is Roberval Teixeira e Silva from the University of Macau and Member of the UNESCO Chair on Language Policies for Multilingualism (LPM). The contemporary world - especially the urban centers - has been transconstructed by a significant diversity of languages/contexts. Multilingualism thus became evident as a constitutive aspect of many sociocultural realities. One can even speak of multilingualism in the Portuguese language. The purpose of this dossier, framed in the lines of studies developed by the UNESCO LPM Chair, is to discuss these multilingual spaces in different aspects.

The organizers of the literature dossier for this volume are the researchers Gilberto Araújo de Vasconcelos Júnior (UFRJ) e Maria Lucia Guimarães de Faria (UFRJ). The literature dossier proposes Symbolism and its legacy as the theme for Literature.  Emerged in France in the end of the nineteenth century, Symbolism is an extremely rich movement, not only as far as that intense moment is concerned but also with regard to the premonition it bore of the aesthetic avant-garde of the turn of the century. It exerted an impact on music, the plastic arts and artistic criticism. It spread throughout Europe and brought a remarkable contribution to Brazilian poetry. It bequeathed formal renovation that would be definitely incorporated to literary practice such as free verse and the prose poem. Diadorim invites researchers to send papers that focus on the Symbolist poetic revolution, either relative to the moment in which the movement flourished or open to dialogue with modernity and contemporaneity.

It will submit to the review process and then to publication process originals that have not been previously published and that are in accordance with the guidelines of the journal site (https://revistas.ufrj.br/index.php/diadorim/about/submissions).

Please, accept the assurances of our highest consideration.

Warm regards,

  Editor-in-chief
