CHAMADA – Livro “Estudos do Horror e Violência na Cultura”, organizado por Ramiro Giroldo (UFMS/CNPq) e Wellington Furtado Ramos (UFMS/CNPq)

Fruto das ações do projeto de pesquisa LEHViC (Laboratório de Estudos do Horror e da Violência na Cultura), a antologia de ensaios “Estudos do Horror e Violência na Cultura” vai reunir textos que tratem do horror como efeito estético e das possíveis representações da violência principalmente na literatura e no cinema contemporâneos, embora seja bem-vinda a abertura a outras linguagens artísticas e outros tempos. O interesse motriz é discutir algumas das formas pelas quais a violência e o horror se veem esteticamente transfigurados, e com quais resultados e implicações.

Simetricamente à diversidade das manifestações culturais investigadas, o livro acolhe abordagens múltiplas que ajudem a responder as questões a seguir. Que transformações ocorreram no conceito de compreensão do horror e da violência ao longo de sua instauração e de seu uso em diversas manifestações culturais? Que procedimentos filosóficos, linguísticos e estilísticos marcam essas transformações? Quais as possíveis semelhanças e diferenças entre a representação do horror e da violência na literatura e em outras artes? Como elas se inserem na cultura?

Serão avaliados manuscritos em Língua Portuguesa, Língua Espanhola e Língua Inglesa que orbitem preocupações afins às acima mencionadas. Os textos devem ser enviados até o dia 31/12/2019, em arquivo de texto (.doc) para os e-mails r_giroldo@yahoo.com.br e furtado.ramos@outlook.com.

Acerca do projeto de pesquisa que dá origem à publicação do livro, o Laboratório de Estudos do Horror e da Violência na Cultura (LEHViC) é um projeto de pesquisa aprovado no Edital Universal 01/2016 do CNPq. Sediado no campus de Campo Grande, da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), é coordenado pelo Prof. Dr. Ramiro Giroldo e tem como pesquisadores os docentes Prof.ª Dr.ª Rosana Cristina Zanelatto Santos (UFMS), Prof. Dr. Wellington Furtado Ramos (UFMS), Prof. Dr. Danglei de Castro Pereira (UnB), Prof. Dr. Andre Rezende Benatti (UEMS) e Prof. Dr. João Luis Pereira Ourique (UFPel), além de contar com o Apoio Técnico da mestranda Carla dos Santos Meneses Campos, do Mestrado em Estudos de Linguagens (UFMS).

Product of the actions of the research project LEHViC (Laboratory of Studies of Horror and Violence in Culture), the anthology of essays “Studies of Horror and Violence in Culture” will bring together texts that deal with horror as an aesthetic effect and the possible representations of violence. It will focus especially on contemporary literature and film, although openness to other artistic languages ​​and other times is welcome. The driving interest is to discuss some of the ways in which violence and horror are aesthetically transfigured, and what are its results and implications.

Symmetrical to the diversity of cultural manifestations investigated, the book welcomes multiple approaches that help answer the following questions. What transformations have occurred in the concept of understanding horror and violence throughout its establishment and use in various cultural manifestations? What philosophical, linguistic, and stylistic procedures mark these transformations? What are the possible similarities and differences between the representation of horror and violence in literature and other arts? How do they fit into the culture?

Manuscripts in Portuguese, Spanish and English that orbit similar concerns to those mentioned above will be evaluated. The texts must be sent by 12/31/2019, in text file (.doc) to the e-mails r_giroldo@yahoo.com.br and furtado.ramos@outlook.com.

El interés principal es discutir algunas de las formas en que la violencia y el horror se transfiguran estéticamente, y con qué resultados e implicaciones.

Sobre el proyecto de investigación que da lugar a la publicación del libro, el Laboratorio de Estudios de Horror y Violencia en la Cultura (LEHViC) es un proyecto de investigación aprobado en Edicto Universal 01/2016, de CNPq.
