O Centro Latino-Americano e Caribenho Kimberly Green (LACC) da Universidade Internacional da Flórida (FIU) seleciona dois professores para o cargo de Assistente, Associado ou Catedrático, especializados no Brasil, com área e período abertos. O período de revisão de candidaturas começa no dia 1 de fevereiro de 2019.

As responsabilidades incluem pesquisa, ensino, assessoria e liderança no novo Instituto de Estudos Brasileiros da LACC. O candidato ou candidatos aprovados começarão em agosto de 2019. A vaga permanecerá aberta até ser preenchida.

Os candidatos devem ser doutorados, possuir um bom histórico de pesquisa e ensino e trabalhar, de preferência, em estudos interdisciplinares ou comparativos.

O LACC procura especialistas no Brasil em qualquer disciplina. As áreas podem incluir: segurança e governança, estudos ambientais, saúde pública, ciência política, direitos humanos e justiça social, estudos de gênero, estudos urbanos e geográficos, indigeneidade, arte e história da arte, ou comunidades migrantes e diaspóricas, de entre outras.

The Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC) at Florida International University (FIU) seeks to hire two professors at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, specializing in Brazil, sub-field open, period open.  FIU is a world-class research university with an exceptionally diverse undergraduate and graduate student body. Its mission is explicitly linked to providing routes to educational success for underrepresented and first-generation college students. A commitment to this mission is a preferred qualification. Advancement through the faculty ranks at Florida International University is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, each of which includes substantial peer input.

The positions are tenured/tenure-track, with appointments at the rank commensurate with the candidate's qualifications.  Duties include research, teaching, advising, and leadership in LACC's new Brazilian Studies Institute. Successful candidates will hold an appointment in LACC with a tenure home in the candidate's disciplinary department of expertise, with potential affiliation to other departments or programs. The successful candidate or candidates will begin August 2019 and salary will be commensurate to education and experience, and the position will remain open until filled. Qualified candidates must hold a PhD, be scholars with an accomplished record of research and teaching and have particular strength in interdisciplinary studies. A successful candidate must be a Brazil specialist but may work in any discipline; interdisciplinary scholars and scholars conducting comparative work are particularly encouraged to apply.  Areas of focus might include security and governance, environmental studies, public health, political science, human rights and social justice, gender studies, urban studies and geography, labor, indigeneity, art and art history, or migrant, transient and diasporic communities, among others.
