A candidatura selecionada contribuirá diretamente para a organização e coleta de dados qualitativos e quantitativos, principalmente no caso do Brasil, e outros países incluídos no projeto: Reino Unido, Espanha e Ucrânia.

Entre os requisitos desejáveis encontra-se o conhecimento ou interesse pela política brasileira ou latino-americana, a experiência em pesquisa no Brasil ou na América Latina sobre protesto ou migração, e fluência em português.

We are recruiting a Research Associate to work on the ORA (ESRC) funded project, ‘MOBILISE - Determinants of ‘Mobilisation’ at Home and Abroad: Analysing the Micro- Foundations of Out-Migration & Mass Protest.
 

MOBILISE is an exciting large grant project that spans three continents, seven countries, and covers important questions around mobilization to protest and to migrate. The MOBILISE team is made up of 12 senior, mid-career and earlier career academics from the UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands, and is joined by an Advisory Board of 25 internationally leading scholars on protest and migration. The UK PI is Dr. Olga Onuch who is also whole project manager.

MOBILISE asks: When there is discontent, why do some people protest while others cross borders?

Connecting theoretical expectations from the migration and protest literatures, we examine:
whether similar factors drive the choice to migrate and/or protest at the individual level;
how context affects this mobilisation;
whether these choices are independent of each other or mutually reinforcing/ undermining.
