The Department of Portuguese Studies is seeking to make an appointment at the rank of Lecturer to start in April 2021. The department offers a major with Honours in Portuguese Studies, as well as the MA degree by dissertation.
 
Requirements: Candidates should have a native or near-native ability in the Portuguese language, proficiency in English (B2), teaching experience in Portuguese as a foreign language and contemporary Lusophone literature at university level. Candidates should have the experience and knowledge to lecture in a B-learning system. Candidates should further hold a PhD and have a publication record in Portuguese Studies or related fields.
 
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be required to offer a wide-ranging curriculum across all years of study; implement communicative, student-centred methodologies to facilitate language acquisition; supervise postgraduate students; be research-active in areas related to the discipline; participate in interdisciplinary research and teaching; carry out administrative duties; and take part in the intellectual and public life of the School and University.
