The School of Literature and Languages brings together the academic disciplines of English literature, creative writing, modern languages, linguistics, and translation studies. The School also offers evening language classes for the general public and an institution-wide language programme for University students.
We are seeking to appoint a part-time Associate Tutor to teach Portuguese beginners and post-beginners classes (A1 – A2) on three different programmes in the School of Literature and Languages: two 3-hour modules (beginners and post-beginners) on the undergraduate degree programme (1 per semester), two year-long modules (beginners and post-beginners) on the University’s institution-wide language programme (Global Graduate Award in Languages), and two 3-term classes on the Evening Language Courses programme (beginners and post beginners/pre-intermediate). This position is a fixed-term but with the possibility the contract could be renewed in the next academic year.
Applicants should hold a first degree in a relevant subject, a teaching qualification, and have teaching experience. A Master’s degree and a background in teaching in the Higher Education sector would be an advantage.
