A Universidade de Edimburgo divulga a abertura de candidaturas para uma vaga de docente em Estudos Lusófonos, com início a partir de 1 de agosto de 2022.

A candidatura selecionada ministrará cursos sobre literatura, cinema, história e cultura lusófonas em todos os níveis do programa de graduação e desenvolverá novos cursos a partir de pesquisas no seu campo, além de contribuir para módulos comparativos, em inglês, ministrados em equipe.

Constituem requisitos específicos de admissão:

• Possuir doutoramento em área relevante;
• Experiência demonstrável em docência no nível universitário;
• Fluência em português e inglês;

A fluência em espanhol, bem como uma agenda de pesquisa comparativa, são também bem-vindas.

Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies, part of the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures, at the University of Edinburgh invites applications to a Lectureship or Senior Lectureship in Lusophone Studies tenable from 1st August 2022 on an open-ended basis.

The successful candidate will deliver and convene courses on Lusophone literature, film, history and culture at all levels of the degree programme, and develop new research-led courses within their field, as well as contributing to team-taught comparative modules offered in English across the School.

Some Portuguese language teaching may be required and the post holder will play an active role in the administrative tasks of the Department of European Languages and Cultures and School, such as Year Abroad Coordinator or similar roles. They will also contribute to our research environment through their research expertise in Lusophone culture, literature, society, politics, or history.

Your skills and attributes for success:

• PhD in a relevant area.
• Experience and demonstrable success in delivering effective university teaching.
• Fluency in written and spoken Portuguese to degree level, with excellent oral and written communication skills in Portuguese and English.
• Competency in Spanish in addition to a comparative research agenda would be an advantage.
• Recent record of outstanding publications.
