A Equipe de Poder e Política Popular do Institute of Development Studies (IDS), uma organização global de investigação e aprendizagem para uma mudança equitativa e sustentável, sediada em Brighton, Reino Unido, está a recrutar um pesquisador de pós-doutoramento para trabalhar no programa "Countering the Backlash: Reclaiming Gender Justice" financiado pela Agência Sueca de Cooperação Internacional para o Desenvolvimento.

O programa foi concebido para criar o conhecimento necessário e identificar oportunidades para as organizações de direitos das mulheres e outros defensores da justiça de gênero para combater o backlash e enfrentar a erosão dos objetivos de gênero dentro da política e prática de desenvolvimento.

Os candidatos devem ter um doutorado em ciências sociais juntamente com um bom e actualizado conhecimento da literatura teórica e prática sobre género, desenvolvimento e justiça social. O candidato seleccionado terá excelentes capacidades de análise, escrita e comunicação e será capaz de trabalhar autonomamente, com um mínimo de supervisão. A vontade de viajar para o estrangeiro é essencial para este papel e a fluência no português falado e escrito é altamente desejável.

Post-Doctoral Researcher

The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) is a global research and learning organisation for equitable and sustainable change, based in Brighton.

The Power & Popular Politics Team at IDS is seeking a Post-Doctoral Researcher (PDR) to work on the multi-year, multi-country programme: ‘Countering the Backlash: Reclaiming Gender Justice’ funded by Sida (Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency. The programme is designed to create knowledge needed and identify opportunities for women’s rights organisations and other gender justice defenders to counter the backlash and address the erosion of gender objectives within development policy and practice.

Applicants should have a PhD in social sciences along with good and up-to-date knowledge of the theoretical and practical literature on gender, development and social justice. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, writing and communication skills and be able to work autonomously, with minimal supervision. A willingness to travel overseas is essential to this role and fluency in spoken and written Portuguese is highly desirable.
