A sétima edição do Lusophone and Hispanic Linguistics Symposium (LHLS7) acontece na Universidade de Wisconsin, em Milwaukee, nos dias 8 e 9 de novembro de 2019. O Simpósio, organizado pelos Departamentos de Espanhol e Português das Universidades de Wisconsin-Milwaukee e Wisconsin-Madinson incluirá apresentações em diferentes campos da Linguística: descritiva, aplicada, social e teórica de uma perspetiva sincrónica ou diacrónica. Os investigadores interessado em participar com trabalhos têm até 18 de agosto.
As línguas oficiais do Simpósio são o Português, Inglês e Espanhol. São bem-vindos trabalhos não apenas sobre linguística mas também sobre Língua Portuguesa, Espanhola e suas línguas de contacto.

The Departments of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin-Madison invite submissions for papers to be presented at the 7th Lusophone and Hispanic Linguistics Symposium to take place at UW-Milwaukee on November 8-9, 2019.
We are proud to announce the participation of the following keynote speakers:
Dr. Javier Rivas (University of Colorado, Boulder)
Dr. Sonia Barnes (Marquette University)
Submissions for the main session from graduate students and other scholars are welcome in any descriptive, social, applied or theoretical approach to linguistics, from a synchronic or diachronic perspective. Papers on topics in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or the languages they are in contact with should not exceed 20 minutes. The languages of the symposium are Portuguese, Galician, Spanish, and English.
Abstracts should be at most one page, with one-inch margins and 12-point font. A second page may be included for references and/or data. Abstracts should be sent to reidoval@uwm.edu.
The deadline for submission is 12 p.m. CST on August 18, 2019. You will be notified of the status of your submission by early September.
