A Faculdade de Ciências Humanas da Universidade Hebraica de Jerusalém divulga a abertura de concurso para seleção de candidatos para uma vaga de professor/a (tenure-track) de História da América Latina no período colonial ou História Ibérica, aberta a todos os períodos.

Os/as candidatos/as deverão possuir um doutoramento, o mais tardar em 01 de julho de 2017.

As responsabilidades incluem o ensino de disciplinas obrigatórias e eletivas em campo(s) de especialização do/a candidato/a (em níveis BA e grau MA) e a realização de pesquisa independente e original ao nível académico mais elevado, bem como demonstrar liderança académica, entre outros.

Os/as candidatos/as especializados/as na História da América Latina deverão possuir conhecimentos abrangentes da história latino-americana até as Guerras de Independência do início do século 19, e e aconselhar os/as estudantes de pós-graduação em diferentes aspetos da história da América Latina no período colonial.

Os/as candidatos/as especializados/as na História Ibérica deverão possuir um conhecimento abrangente da História da Península Ibérica (Espanha e / ou Portugal), e ensinar e aconselhar os/as estudantes de pós-graduação em diferentes aspetos da história da Espanha e / ou Portugal, especialmente sobre a dimensão imperial da Espanha e / ou Portugal e as suas colónias na América Latina.

A língua de ensino é o hebraico; os/as candidatos/as não fluentes na língua deverão atingir a proficiência em hebraico durante os primeiros anos.

Tenure-track Position in the Latin American History in the Colonial Period and/or Iberian History (all periods)

Open call to candidates for a tenure-track position in the Latin American History in the colonial period and/or Iberian History (all periods), at the Faculty of Humanities of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (open rank).
The position is open to individuals who hold a doctorate degree and for advanced doctoral students whose PhD will be conferred no later than July 1, 2017.

Job requirements:

Open call to candidates for a tenure-track position in the Latin American History in the colonial period and/or Iberian History (all periods). Responsibilities include the teaching of required and elective courses in the candidate's field(s) of specialization (at B.A. and M.A. degree levels). Successful candidates are expected to conduct independent and original research at the highest academic level, demonstrate academic leadership, compete for Israeli and international research grants and have the ability to cooperate with colleagues within the Faculty of Humanities and beyond.

Candidates in the Latin American field are expected to possess comprehensive knowledge of Latin American history until the Independence Wars of the early 19th Century, and to be able to teach and advise graduate students in different aspects of the history of Latin America in the Colonial Period.

Candidates in the Iberian History field are expected to possess comprehensive knowledge of the History of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and/or Portugal), and to be able to teach and advise graduate students in different aspects of the history of Spain and/or Portugal. When relevant, familiarity with the imperial dimension of Spain and/or Portugal, especially with their colonies in Latin America, is also expected.

The Language of instruction is Hebrew, but candidates not fluent in the language will be given the time to reach proficiency in Hebrew during the initial years of their appointment.
