Foi alargado até 27 de agosto o prazo de submissão de propostas para a conferência «Jane Austen Superstar. Readership, Translation & Criticism in the 21st century», que terá lugar na Universidade Católica Portuguesa, em Lisboa, nos dias 11 e 12 de dezembro de 2017.

Helena Kelly (Mansfield College, Oxford)

Os idiomas da conferência são o inglês e o português. Os/as oradores/as devem preparar uma apresentação de 20 minutos seguida de perguntas. Envie um resumo de 250 palavras, bem como um resumo biográfico (100 palavras) para austensuperstar@gmail.com até 27 de agosto de 2017.

As propostas devem listar o título do documento, o nome, a filiação institucional e os detalhes de contato. A notificação de aceitação ou rejeição do resumo ocorrerá até 18 de setembro de 2017.

Call for Papers

Jane Austen Superstar.
Readership, Translation & Criticism in the 21st century
11-12 December 2017
Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Lisbon)

The conference would like to celebrate Jane Austen’s life and work by discussing (a) how her books form part of the contemporary experience of love, gender, family, social and pecuniary relations and (b) how her writing style, her silences as well as her favourite topics, and her language have shaped modern-day literature, both in the UK and abroad.

The conference languages are English and Portuguese. Speakers should prepare for a 20-minute presentation followed by questions. Please send a 250-word abstract, as well as a brief biographical note (100 words) to austensuperstar@gmail.com by August 27, 2017.

Proposals should list the paper title, name, institutional affiliation, and contact details. Notification of abstract acceptance or rejection will take place by September 18, 2017.
